What Happens When You Die?
What happens when you die? Is death really the end, or is there life after death? These are questions almost everyone thinks about at some point. The Bible tells us that our life on earth is temporary, but death is not the end. There is an eternity ahead for every one of us.
The most important question is not simply when we will die, but where we will spend eternity. The Bible speaks clearly about Heaven, Hell, judgment, salvation, and eternal life through Jesus Christ. My hope is that this page will help you understand what the Bible says and, most importantly, help you to find Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour.

What Does the Bible Say Happens When You Die?
The Bible teaches that physical death is not the end of our existence. Our bodies die, but we will face God and eternity. Hebrews 9:27 KJV says, “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:”
That makes what we do with Jesus Christ during this life incredibly, vitally important. We are not promised tomorrow, and none of us knows when our last breath here on earth will be.
Is There Life After Death?
YES. According to the Bible, there is life after death. Jesus spoke plainly about eternal life, Heaven, judgment, and Hell. Death does not erase our existence or make eternity disappear.
Jesus said, “I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:” — John 11:25 KJV. That is why the difference between knowing Jesus as your personal Savior and simply just knowing about Jesus is a matter of Eternal Life and Death!
Are Heaven and Hell Real?
Yes. The Bible clearly teaches that Heaven and Hell are real, and Jesus repeatedly warned us about judgment and the reality of Hell. Jesus warned us as clearly as He could about the reality and torment of hell. Yet I believe our human minds cannot even come close to comprehending how terrible it will be-or what it means for that suffering to never end. He warned us because He does not want any of us to go there. I believe this is one of the reasons He sent His son to earth, to die the most horrible death, hanging on a cross until He takes His last breath. To show us that He loves us THIS MUCH. I don't think there is any thing greater God could have done to show us HOW MUCH HE REALLY LOVES US. He did this, hoping we will see that kind of love and ask Him to be our Father and ask Him to forgive us of our sins and have a home in Heaven FOREVER, so that we will not spend an eternity in hell. Revelation 21:8 KJV warns of “the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”
Jesus said, “And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.” — Matthew 25:46 KJV
Death is not something any of us can avoid. The question is, where will we spend eternity?
How Can I Know Where I Will Go When I Die?
The Bible tells us that salvation is through Jesus Christ. We cannot earn Heaven by being a good person, doing good works, or simply believing that God exists. We all have sinned, and we all need a Savior.
Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” — John 14:6 KJV
The good news is that God wants you to come to Him. You do not have to make yourself good enough first. Come to Jesus just as you are, put your faith and trust in Him. Repent, and ask Him to forgive you of your sins and ask Jesus to come into your heart and be your personal Lord & Savior.
